The front of the Mayfair is dominated by the large block lettering of the cinema name set within a recess, which at night was back lit by blue neon. This same design of lettering was also used by Kemp for the Regent Paignton, Towers Hornchurch and Trafalgar Greenwich, which also featured the illuminated display as used here by the Mayfair. Another Kemp feature was the black entrance doors with their chrome handles made as the letter ’M' when each pair of doors were closed.
