The photograph above was taken prior to the official opening, showing close up detail of the gilded splay wall grille that concealed the organ chamber. Interior design of the Ritz was by Eugene Mollo who designed many varied designs for splay wall grilles that not only enhanced the
auditorium but covered the ventilation shafts and as here the organ chamber. The main metal fabrication was manufactured at the Mollo & Egan workshops before being installed at the cinema prior to internal decoration being completed. Photograph from the Mollo collection.
