Great Corner Shot.

The vertical sign proved too expensive to operate and maintain, and was eventually replaced by a more compact version with just the circuit name of Loew’s.

We had a cousin who was a manager for Lowes Theaters. On Saturday nights my father would load us into the car and take us to whatever theater he was working to see the last show. This was so we could see a free movie, and be able to give him a lift home in Coney Island, so he would not have to take the subway late at night. I saw many movies in the Triboro. Once during a boring movie, I started staring at the ceiling and noticed it looked like the clouds on the ceiling were moving. I could never figure out how they did that.
