ROXY GARDENS - THE OFFICIAL OPENING (Feb 14, 1936)

THE beautiful open-air theatre in Wade Avenue was officially opened on Friday evening, (Feb 14, 1936) just prior to the first pictures being shown on its screen. The builders had just completed the proscenium a few minutes before.

Mr.and Mrs. W. Rawlings and Mr.and Mrs. F. R. King mounted the platform, accompanied by the managing director of the Riverina Theatres Ltd., Mr. Geo. Conson. A round of applause greeted their appearance, for it marked another big moment in tho amusement life of our wonderful town.
