This frontage was heritage listed and still presides over Rundle Mall, Adelaide’s main shopping precinct and the first of its kind in Australia. It was once the home of several theatres, and packed with a jostling mass of people, cars and double decker trolley buses. It is now for pedestrians only, and has no theatres, having lost them because of competition from multiplexes in several large suburban shopping malls. This picture is from the collection of C.A.T.H.S., and was originally taken for Hoyts Theatres. It may not be used commercially.
