Although no clear photo of the Roxy exists, you can see it at the very right edge of this Freeman Furniture Photo. Roxy Theater, located on the south side of the downtown square in Murfreesboro during the 1940s and early 1950s. The photo in the center shows the Roxy in 1950 in the background. It was owned by the Crescent Amusement Company of Nashville, the same company that owed the Princess Theatre. Although the owners hoped that Murfreesboro was big enough to support 2 theaters, the coming of the age of television in the early 1950s helped lead to the demise of the Roxy.
