I found this today in the Buffalo (MO) Reflex, “Contributed by Springfield News Leader”. The caption suggests that the photo was taken “about 1948-50” since the Tower Theater in the foreground is showing The Naked City. “The photographer was Betty Love.”

I have no interest in the copyright to this photo. I suspect its copyright was not renewed, and in any event, I’m posting it here for the scholarly fair use of establishing what the neighborhood looked like while the Springfield Drive-In was in operation. Reuse at your own risk.
