Here’s a new 4-page 50th anniversary FIDDLER ON THE ROOF retrospective featuring a roadshow playdate chronology and historian Q&A. The Kings’ lengthy run is mentioned in the piece.
Operated as early as 1912. It was once operated by Odeon Theatres Canada during its very later years. Both Canadian Odeon and Cineplex merged in July 1984, and the Cineplex Odeon identity was introduced the following year in 1985. Cineplex Odeon closed the Kings on January 18, 1990 with “Back To The Future Part II”.
Independent ownership took over the Kings to reopen it on November 7, 1992 with the double feature of “A League Of Their Own” and “Death Becomes Her”.
