Here’s an excellent early photo of LA’s drive-in, from the Ernest Marquez Collection, The Huntington Library, San Marino, California. (Which is how they’d like you to cite the photo if you reuse it.)

I included this photo in both editions of my book, Drive-Ins of Route 66, but only today thought to upload it here. (Sorry.) Note that the sign matches the 1938 “Cinemotor” sign I posted earlier.
