A part of “Go Western Week” the parade was a piece of the campaign launched to promote the rodeo and livestock show. Everyone was encouraged to don jeans, boots, string ties, and cowboy hats. The parade wound its way through downtown on its way to the City Coliseum where the show was held at the time.
