Pioneering Milwaukee theatre owner John Rudolf Freuler launched the Whitehouse under Central Amusement Co. back in the 1910s. But film producing was his second passion and he moved to California. At the end of his studio career, Frueler returned to his beloved Milwaukee roots and renamed the Whitehouse as the Atlantic Theatre. Here’s a look at the streamline moderne auditorium in 1952.
