Arthouse Le Paris

The 480-seat Cinema Le Paris opened 18th July 1963 with Laurent Terzieff in “Ballade pour un Voyou”. It was the last single screen cinema to be built in Zurich. It was extensively remodelled in 1998 and the seating capacity was reduced to 406. On 1st January 2000 it was taken over by the Arthouse Kinos chain. It now operates with 311-seats, with 216-seats in the orchestra and 95-seats in the balcony. It operates as one of Zurich’s art house cinemas.

This is a tidy 200 seater on a nice commercial square around the corner from the Corso…great to see that it has survived the 30 years since I saw Cage aux Folles 2 and Postman Always Rings Twice There…Thanks to Ken Roe for adding this run of Zurich theatres
