Photograph showing Rialto auditorium with main house curtains closed. Holophane lighting was installed throughout the auditorium including pendant light fittings also their ‘Vario’ proscenium curtains with appliqué designs onto the velvet in various special reflecting materials that were selected to enhance the Holophane multi coloured lighting effects. The auditorium pendant light fittings were also tied into the Holophane auto-selective lighting dimmers giving overall colour control of all auditorium lighting. These identical Holophane proscenium curtains were also installed at the following cinemas. Plaza Rugby, 30th January 1933. Rialto York, 25th November 1935 and Plaza Truro, 2nd January 1936.
