Savoy Theatrette 636 Hay Street, Perth, WA

Photo - Bustling Hay Street Perth 1962 - Look up to the top of the picture you can see the neon sign for the Savoy basement theatre, a little further on you see part of the neon for Hoyts Plaza.

The Savoy Newsreel Theatrette opened December 23 1955, from mid-1959 with the arrival of television the Savoy went over to screening full length feature films. In 1975 the programming policy would change again to R-Rated adult films. It was closed in August 1991.
