The MUTAGRAPH was patented by Welsh entertainer, inventor, and filmmaker John Nevil Maskelyne on 28/05/1896, in an attempt to eliminate the strong flicker of other projectors. • He presented his own films at the Egyptian Hall at Piccadilly (London), where he had been putting on magic shows since 1873.
