With attention in the movie theater industry focused on how theater designs with a lot of detail simply made the theatre look old, here’s a classic example of going from a Colonial-style to streamlined. Murals and ceiling features simply covered up as well as carpeting over mosaic tile work. This is the entry area when the Colonial Theatre was refurbished in 1939/40.
