Presented in Dimension 150, as reserved-seat roadshow.
This ad was somewhat deceptive. MAROONED was a standard 70mm enlargement from 35mm Panavision projected through the All Purpose D-150 Curvulon projector lens attachment. The projected image was only 120 degrees curved. Nice presentation but definitely not Dimension 150 (150 degree screen curvature). NOTE: Special hard ticket presentations of THE BIBLE (1966) and PATTON (1970), in New York City, were standard 70mm prints projected through the D-150 lens. The UA Rivoli (New York) was a fully equipped D-150 theatre.
(A disasterous presentation of CROMWELL (1970), UA Rivoli New York, had a projected image distortion where the lower right and left horizontal areas “bowed” up and were not straight across. I consulted the projectionists and a standard anamorphic “scope” lens was used for the 35mm print being projected on the curved screen. Use of the D-150 Curvulon lens would have solved the distortion problem. I have no quality presentation sheets to see if this problem was resolved.)
