This picture, like the closer view of the entrance and that of the proscenium, was taken when the Star theatre was still showing films. The building is part of the Hindmarsh Town Hall complex and is still owned by the council, but the theatre fit-out inside was at the expense of the exhibitor, Dan Clifford’s Star Theatre Circuit. It is one of the finest examples in South Australia of an architectural style which meant ‘modern’ to my teen-age mind.
