After some unsuccessful lease arrangements, the building was again up for sale in 1962. Live theater or cinema screenings were not among the list of suggested uses (nor were antique center/café). The Chief Secretary’s Department approval for use as a public hall was finally withdrawn 31st August 1966. The building has since had many owners.
