After ten years, Neate sold the theater to local butcher Reginald Nicholas Delaney in October 1924. Delaney improved stage facilities, purchased two C & W projectors, and operated the venue for three years. An attempt was made to sell the theater in March 1927, but eventually it was leased in November to Hugh David Gallagher - who ran the show for three years. The cinema wasn’t always closed in winter, but screenings were reduced from three to perhaps one day a week, and roller skating sessions helped pay the bills.
