The Bevans ran the cinema for 18 months before Grace Brothers department store saw its potential as a furniture warehouse. The last screening took place on Saturday 5 May 1951: RKO’s “The White Tower” with Columbia’s “Forbidden City”. (The Bevans went on to purchase the Oatley Radio cinema on 29 July 1953 which they ran for a year or two.) Beszant’s Artarmon Picture Theatre Company was wound up on 17 December 1951, and the theater license was cancelled 29 October 1952.
