Bottom photo taken 24 May 1960 of the new lemon colored drapes covering the original proscenium and side boxes installed for the opening of “Ben-Hur”. It seems that the chandelier shown in the top image was removed some time earlier. An altered screen configuration resulted in a loss of seating capacity as shown by the covering of seating here in the Upper Circle, and down in the Stalls, due to poor sight lines. Colorized images.
