The Menora Picture Gardens of 362 Walcott Street, Mt Lawley, WA were built by Abraham Machlin with a seating capacity of 1100, opening with council approval on January 18 1947. A packed house enjoyed the Gene Tierney feature film “Laura”, supported by “Four Jills in a Jeep”. The theatre was named after the “Menorah”, a candelabra used in the religious rituals of Judaism.
