Cinedome-Orange (1993)–shortly after its final expansion. The three new smaller domes (added in 1992) brought the theatre’s capacity to over 5600, more seats than many so-called modern megaplexes. This eleven-screen giant included seven domed, ampitheatre auditoriums. The two original domes were each as large as the Cinerama-Hollywood (approx. 900 seats apiece). In addition, there were four conventional auditoriums ranging from 600 to 400 seats each. Theatre was super loaded. Projection/sound included five 70mm 6-track magnetic houses: the two 900-seat domes, a 600-seat conventional auditorium, and two 400-seaters (one domed, one convenitonal). All digital sound formats available in the ‘90s were also used and rotated throughout the comeplex. Snack bar had two Rolls-Royce popcorn poppers, a cafe with fresh made-to-order pizza, nachos made with real grated cheese, pastries and gourmet hot beverages. Lobby had an immense fountain and full-sized arcade. Manager offices included numerous safes, two treasury rooms, and a pneumatic tube system for transporting money to and from the box office. In its day, one of the busiest theatres in America. Photo Source: CinemaTour.com, Syufy Enterprises Collection, http://www.cinematour.com/tour/us/2678.html.
