Photograph of the Palace Theatre cinema November 1949. The Palace was completely modernised after Gaumont acquired the building in July 1930 only the entrance steps remain after enlargement of front internal foyer, with the additional stylish entrance canopy bearing the Palace name also repeated vertically just in view and the front poster boards at top read‘A Gaumont Theatre’ to the right we see next weeks films are bring pasted onto the large display board.
