In 1952 a Castle entrance foyer was created for the MGM film “Ivanhoe” which had a Scottish Premier at the Playhouse, with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester at the opening. The whole entrance foyer was turned into the courtyard of the castle, with the paybox featuring at the drawbridge.
