To-day (Saturday) marks the close of a very successful era an the history of the Cinema in Bridge-road, Richmond for on Monday talking” pictures will be Installed, the theatre having been specially wired' for that purpose.

Hearts in Dixie. The “talking” picture programme commences on Monday.

Judging by the rush to the Melbourne theatres as soon as that class of entertainment is provided, it will be desirable for those who wish to be present to book their seats in advance, for which there is no extra charge.

“Hearts in Dixie” Is the principal film, and the name indicates the nature of the entertainment by 200 Negro natives of the United States south of the Mason and Dixie line, including the Billbrew chorus of sixty voices scenes in the old plantations as the Nellie Bly steamer pulls into the wharf. Many negro spirituals will be sung, and there will be cake-walks and folk dances —just the kind of revelry which bears transplanting to the talking screen. The comedy, “In Holland,” and the Fox Movietone news will form part of the programme.
