Such a great curved screen theatre. First they had CinemaScope® in the early 1950’s then 70mm TODD-AO after that a D-150 curved screen all with curtains, then UA took It out for some reason and now no curved screen is in as the place was torn down. Only one single screen left in all of NYC the ‘Paris Theatre’ rented by the computer TV guys at Netflik. How times have changed, thanks Vindanpar for the back side photo of the UA Rivoli NYC a D-150 Theatre as they had on a neon sign up on the right top side of the marquee. They even kept the D-150 lighted sign up for many months when they had no more D-150 screen. I complained to the manager and got my money back about false advertising. UA got so money hungry in the late 1970’s and tried to sell some of their best theatres or do some of the worst twin jobs in the USA. At least when they ran the NYC Rivoli Theatre It was a first class roadshow cinema and they did not try to twin the place.

The Rivoli WAS twinned during early 1980s shortly before being defaced and subsequently demolished. The stage house in the rear, where the poster is pictured, was converted to retail on street level and small office space above. The twin job was poorly done I believe during 1981 or 2.
