On January 26, 1973, Jerry Lewis came to the Fairmont Hotel in Dallas to unveil this, the first of Dallas-Fort Worth’s first what is hope to be many automated Jerry Lewis Cinemas in the area. It was to be the $250,000 Jerry Lewis Cinema Twin in Grand Prairie. Although the Jerry Lewis Circuit went into bankruptcy prior to its opening, the cinema opened as the Safari Twin and struggled mightily before giving up the hunt for an audience.
