The newly restored Regent cinema works were carried out by Roland Satchwell of Satchwell & Roberts cinema architects Birmingham for the owner Rowland Reeves, who also owned the nearby Plaza Cinema Illminster. Kalee 8 Projectors with B.T.H were installed into a new larger projection room, after the removal of the previous circle area. New stadium seating which rose from the centre towards the screen. Featured decoration were the lattice styled windows either side of the proscenium which had a series of coloured lighting effects, four concealed ceiling lighting troughs lit the main auditorium, with a colour scheme of a rose background overlaid with vertical bands of crimson. Two neon signs were fitted to the front above the entrance and the canopy below lit in red and green. The refurbished Regent opened in September 1950.
