Fox’s “Lloyds of London” starring Tyrone Power and Madeleine Carroll ran four weeks at the Regent. This colorized image of a Sam Hood photo (courtesy Mitchell Collection State Library of NSW) was taken in George Street on opening day - Easter Saturday 27th March 1937. On the supporting program is “The March of Time” a popular short subject series produced by Louis De Rochemont for Time, Inc. On 4th March 1937 the company won a special Academy Award for having revolutionized the newsreel form.
