Sydney film production pioneers - the three McDonagh sisters, trade previewed their second feature at the Prince Edward Theatre 11a.m. 19th June 1928. It was immediately acquired for distribution by the newly formed British Dominion Films, to run as a support with their feature length docudrama “The Battles of Coronel and Falkland Islands” opening 14th July 1928 for a fixed two week season at the Regent. Managing Director of this new distribution company – formed by Melbourne filmmaker Charles Herschell – was his son-in-law Ernest Turnbull (who went on to run Hoyts for many years from 1941).
