Photo from 1921, with a Hull tram and the R38 British airship can also be seen, which had its maiden flight on 23rd June 1921. The airship suffered a structural failure while flying over the city of Hull on 24th August 1921, its fourth flight. It crashed into the Humber Estuary. 44 members of the crew of 49 were killed. 16 of 17 Americans on board were killed and 28 of the 32 British on board were killed.
