Hoyts Regent Fitzroy 84 Johnston Street, Melbourne, VIC

The original Regent Theatre in Fitzroy (opened 1931, demolished 1983) was a luxurious 2,000-seat “picture palace” featuring a notable Gothic Revival foyer, an opulent auditorium, crystal chandeliers, extensive silk drapes, and a full-size orchestra pit. Located on Johnson Street, it was designed as one of the area’s most extravagant venues for film and live performance.
