The projection booth of the State Theatre. Equipped with two Simplex E-7 projectors and Simplex Sound. Also Peerless Magnarc Carbon Arc lamps. Picture taken around 1983 when I was a projectionist there.

…and here’s what the projection booth looks like now! It’s the SkySuite.

Thanks to bobc007 for posting the originals.

I have the entire booth, down to every last nut and bolt, and all of the associated items – rewind tables, extra lenses, splicers, intercoms, stage lighting controls, cases of 3-D glasses, film trailers, “upcoming attractions”, parts bins – in storage. (Including the transverters which were actually outside the booth.)

And I actually have two extra complete E-7’s & Magnarcs with bases that I picked up from a defunct theater up Baltimore way a couple of decades ago.

Someday I’ll turn it all into a working museum somewhere…
