Please update, became a twin 12/24/76, six screens on June 17, 1988 and 9 on 11/6/98, when they went to IMAX the original screen that was twin, the wall was removed when it became IMAX.

Please update, it expanded to 9 screens on November 6, 1998, once IMAX was added then it went 8 screens later on. @rivest266 please correct your date.

Did the Town Cinema that was Frank Theater also close? They played Jaws the summer it opened. Saw Tommy here at the Tilton when it was a single screen theater.
Theatre has been reduced to 8 auditoriums, but a serious near gut renovation on every level has brought the old Tilton Theatre back to life!
Frank Theatres closed the theater in September 2018. It just reopened under Square Theatres as the Tilton Square Theatre:

Hey, Bill Murray (me) moved to New York City five years ago and is on the other side of the camera now…I loved the Tilton, but, the time had come. 45 years was a good run for the original owners and many of them mine also…r.i.p.
Just wondering – does anybody know what happened to Bill Murray – NO – NOT the actor, but the manager of the Tilton?? I’m guessing that when the Franks took over the theatre, Bill decided to go bye-bye…..
Currently closed – – however they’ll be getting an IMAX screen (not sure if its a retrofit with stadium seating or a new addition…)
Frank Theaters will be closing the Tilton 9 at the end of January, 2012 for major renovations and plans to reopen it in May:

It’s on Franks Theaters website now -I wonder what this will mean as this theater split product with the Towne 16 – leading to several indie films to play in the area across 25 screens.
Does anybody know if Charlie Tannembaum still owns this theater.
Most theatre chains didn’t want to touch “STAR WARS” as mentioned above.It DID have legs.
