The building at 218 N Dargon St is indeed a barber college, but the above picture is now an architectural firm located at 155 N Dargon. Which one is the theater?
When I drove by the Uptown in August the doors were open and construction trucks were parked in front of the theater. Obviously some work is being done on the interior.
It looks like the original Lyric was located at approximately at 203 W 4th Street, and this one (just across Washington on 4th Street) was originally an Opera House that was converted by the Masonic Lodge for their use. It may have been used as a theater (the New Lyric) to replace the original Lyric in the next block, or it could have just been an Opera House converted by the Masons. Either way, the Preston was some distance from these two buildings.
The 306 N Washington address refers to the side entrance of the theater which is the entrance of the Masonic Lodge. The front of the theater (H&R Block) is actually 123 W 4th Street.
This is now the Ritz Center. Address is 213 Hickman Road, Tabor City, NC. Hickman Road is on the opposite side of the railroad tracks from South Main St.
The cinema is not at Hwy 47. It is further south at Rabbit Trail and Hwy 100, south of the Walmart on the opposite of the street. The sign is on Hwy 100, but the cinema sits back a block and faces away from the Highway.
I go past this one every week, and as of today this one is still intact. Some buildings are on the property and the snack bar will probably need attention to open, but otherwise it’s ready.
The address is correct but it is mapping wrong. It is actually west of Hwy 61-67 (Truman Blvd) in Crystal City. What makes things confusing is a couple blocks further north you enter the town of Festus and the name of the road changes to Main Street. The LaJade is about five blocks west on Main.
This is not the theater, it is about a block away at 88852 AL-9.
When I went by this one last week to get a picture, I found an empty lot. Please change status to demolished.
50sSNIPES thank you for this info. I looked all over the town for this theater.
It’s the Lincoln in Lincoln, Illinois

It was open when I photographed it in August of 2022.
A Lowe’s hardware store and apartments are now on the site. This should be listed as demolished.

The building pictured here maps to 120 N Liberty St. and is occupied by a law office.
Address is 27 W Main Street. Building is still there according to Street view.
Sorry to see the marquee is gone. I loved seeing it on Greenmount before turning at 33rd street heading to Memorial Stadium to see the O’s.

This location is now a Wal Mart.
Address is actually 528 Hennepin Ave.
Address is 224 South Highway 181, Cabool.

The 9-plex was inside the mall when they enclosed it. This was a stand alone building out by Lindbergh on the parking lot.

I’ve been through Sparta many times through the years, and I can confirm that grassy vacant lot is where the Sparta Theater once stood.

When I went through Jeff City last summer I had noticed that this theater had been demolished.
