The Hi Way Theatre opened on January 21, 1947 as a single floor theatre seating 416. It was originally called the Crystal Hi Way since it was located in the Crystal City part of the twin cities. Just three blocks north of the more elaborate Miller (aka La Jade) Theatre.
The Hi Way Theatre had a short life and couldn’t compete with the Miller Theatre. The final blow was television and the theatre closed after 1957. The building is now a general merchandise store.

The theater is on the right in this May 1999 photo:

This is the map view at 516 Bailey Road, which is more likely the correct address:

The Hi Way actually opened in 1949 and was open past 1957. The correct address is 516 Bailey Rd. The Building is now Flipside Too which teaches cheerleading.
Looks like it opened even earlier. From the Feb. 1, 1947 issue of BoxOffice:
CRYSTAL CITY, MO. – Tilden Dickson opened his new Hi-Way Theatre here January 21. The house has RCA projection and sound equipment, International seats and Mohawk carpeting, all furnished by Cinema Supply.
The address is correct but it is mapping wrong. It is actually west of Hwy 61-67 (Truman Blvd) in Crystal City. What makes things confusing is a couple blocks further north you enter the town of Festus and the name of the road changes to Main Street. The LaJade is about five blocks west on Main.
