Have you read somewhere that this is officially closed? Their website still says temporarily closed and just because a building is listed for sale doesn’t mean the business won’t continue to operate.
Does anybody know if this actually opened in 1995? An article int he 3/22/1995 edition of the Greenwood Index-Journal states that Carmike had recently purchased the theatre from a privately held company… it sound like perhaps it had been operating for some time before that.
Wynnsong was not the operator, it was Carmike. Wynnsong is what they named their theatres, usually if there was more than one in the same area. The first was named Carmike, the second was named Wynnsong.
Is there another theatre being built by competition? I know this theatre probably isn’t much of a blip on AMCs radar, but I have to imagine it’s profitable.
A 8/28/1990 article in the St Louis Post-Dispatch reported that Wehrenberg closed this theatre in September of 1987, shortly after the St. Charles 10 Cine opened.
An article in the 12/17/1985 St Louis Post-Dispatch detailed Mid-America’s sale first to RKO then to AMC shortly thereafter. This was one of Mid-America’s theatres that was under construction, ultimately to open as an AMC Theatre.

Cinemark announced it would not reopen this theatre as it was at the end of its lease.
That’s unfortunate, it was quite a clean operation and one of the last remaining AMC builds from that era.
Last day film played at this theatre (and many closing during the pandemic) was 3/16/2020.
This looks like something Carmike acquired at one point. Anybody know who built and ran it before it got to Southeast Cinemas?
An article posted 5/7/2020 to News Channel 11’s website WJHL reports that the theatre will not be reopening after the Covid-19 pandemic passes.

If it was a good theatre before the pandemic, it will reopen. Whether AMC operates it or not, somebody else will.

Looks like the entire shopping center has been rebuilt. According to historic aerials, it looks like it may have been demolished.

The Florin Family Savings Cinema was just Wallace Theatres reopening the Plitt/Century State 6.
Are we sure that this and the Drive-In on Davis Highway are the same Drive-ins? Not being from the area I’d feel better having somebody confirm this.

Recently remodeled with recliners and renamed Cinemark Greenwood Corner. Appears to be first run now.

According to various display ads in the Greenville News, this operated as a Jerry Lewis theatre during 1972.
Did it ever reopen after Hurricane Michael in 2018?
