1950-1975 Bijou Amusement Circuit, of Nashville, Milton Starr, President, they had over 20 theaters in Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

Opened 9:00 am, Thursday April 28, 2011, with a Spelling Bee.

Saturday, April 30, they had a showing of “REMEMBER THE TITANS”, Denzel Washington played Coach Herman “Ike” Boone. Coach Boone is from Rocky Mount and the Coach and T.C. Williams High School of Rocky Mount are in the movie. Coach Boone’s came back home to Rocky Mount for the movie in the refurbished Booker T Theater.

Built for $40,000 for the Skyline Corp, by the Allen Brothers, Allen Industries of Crown Point. Arthur R. Landry was the Manager of the Drive-In. All of the structures have been demolished except for the Snack Bar which was used as the Diner.

Beach Movie Bistro Inc. is owned by Virginia Beach brothers Donald Pollard Jr. and John Pollard with two out-of-town partners. The Pollard’s parents owned the long-gone Surf ‘n’ Sand Motel, which stood on the site that became the movie theater. The 20,000-square-foot Surf ‘n’ Sand opened with 8 screens.

Google Map is over a mile off. It is Southwest of the Red Dot, a bit Northeast of Miller Road and Ketzeler Drive.

Open in ~1969 or ~1973-~1997? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

Opened as a twin by Butterfield Theatres, of Detroit, they had about 60 theaters all in Michigan.

Around 1977 2 more theaters added.

Around 1985 bought by Kerasotes Theatres of Springfield, Ill. George Kerasotes, President, they had over 30 theaters in Illinois and Michigan. They split the original 2 theaters to make a total of 6 screens.

Around 1995 bought by National Amusements, Inc. (Redstone Management, of Boston, Michael, Edward & Summer Redstone, Officers) they had 44 theaters in Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. They made it into a discount cinema.

1997 closed by National Amusements when they opened Cinema 10.

2001 torn down

Seats: 169, 162, 194, 183, 390, 399.

This is the address that AMC lists on its Website, not 324 Theater Way. Google Map will not be able to find the new address, it did find 170 locations for the old address, none of them correct. Google may not have the info on this “new” construction area yet? It is in the area of Elmhurst Road and Rand Road, if you want to Google that till the address works.
