Yeah, they had In-car heat back in the early sixties too.BIG Jan 1 1960 Triple feature: “SAMSON AND DELILAH”,“CONQUEROR” and the western “OREGON TRAIL”.Kids Supervised on Playground!
Great of you guys to have saved some history. When so many theatres close it is everything in the dumpster.I have been able to save items tossed and much of it from the forties.Best of luck.Always.
Middlesboro,Ky has a nice old Downtown theatre off the main Street. The Park. The Manring {fire brought it down} and Rosa Drive-in All on CT. Over the Mountain in Tazewell,Tenn is and old Drive-in{Tazewell Drive-in} on CT.Cumberland Gap,Tenn had a single screen. Some of the smaller towns in Virginia outside on Kentucky side there are a few old Theatres.Really, the best way,and I do it sometimes Is just get off the Interstate and take the backroads, but it is always rush.Hope you find some.
thanks becca.
“THE BOSTON STRANGLER” played here in 1970.
In 1970 Associated Theatres ran this Drive-in.Jan.2. 1970 has Burt Lancaster in “GYPSY MOTHS” and a cheapie second feature.“HOT ROD TO HELL'.
Nov.1 1956 sees “NORTHWEST PASSAGE” playing.
Great pictures Chuck1231.
This is in the Toledo, Ohio Merto area?
The Loop Theatre was showing “PSYCHO” Dec 6 1960,so i don’t think it was closed yet Chuck, unless there were two Loop Theatres in the area.

Thanks.
Thanks raysson.Great story. You always seem to find the right articles to submit.
This is a theatre the community should have saved.

Refunds cause you don’t like a movie? There is another headache for a poor theatre manager.
What an easy theatre to miss,Guess the locals had it all to themselves and that ain’t a bad thing!
Thanks Bill I have spotted quite a few old theatres in east Kentucky around the Cumberland Gap area.
Very nice looking theatre, until the other screens were added.
You’re right Joe.
Quite frankly i could watch a film in our old GCC theatre seats.
Why couldn’t they install stadium seating instead of another tax right off.
Thanks guys.I was going by the ad.
