Good pictures.I remember Forest City having a downtown theatre along with two Drive-ins,Both on Ct.Don’t know if the downtown theatre has been placed on CT.
Mark55, The Roman theatre was “PROUD TO HAVE BEEN THE FIRST TO INTRODUCE WIDERANGE WESTERN ELECTRIC SOUND SYSTEM”. this on July 27.1934.“BOTTOMS UP” with Spencer Tracy was the movie playing.
Claude Casey shown in the Cwalczak post played alot of shows on stage at the MODJESKA in Augusta,but never at the Miller.This from Bill Barkley retired projectionist.
There was a FOX DRIVE-IN in that city!

Dave, It was opened as an AMC THEATRE!It was inside the Oaks Mall.
I think it was triple before 1982,Chuck. I have it playing July 1 1981 “FOR YOUR EYES ONLY” “DRAGONSLAYER” and “RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK”.
It was showing John Wayne to large crowds in “BLOOD ALLEY” on Nov.1 1955.
“ROCKET MAN” and something called “SCUDDA HAY” were playing on Nov.1 1955.
And in 1981 it was running hard core movies.XXX.“BLOW DRY” and “ELSA” were two winners playing.On a once good drive-in.
Pity it will rot.

On Dec.31 1959 The Lake Theatre was playing “BUT NOT FOR ME” with “THE JAYHAWKERS” coming next!
I just thought Belmont had the Drive-in.Thanks guys.

Dave, Dirk Bogarde was in the movie “SONG WITHOUT END” on Dec 6 1960 with John Wayne in “NORTH TO ALASKA” next.Always a newsreel.

We worked out of the Charlotte office at ABC,so Columbia was a town that had the same DM. I bet they got rid of all the outdoor screens.
