A lot of small theaters have 99 seats because 100 or more triggers some kind of payment to the actors' union. These 99 seat places are called “equity waiver” theaters.
This is supposed to be the State Theater in Tulare, in 1942. I would like someone to confirm that this theater was actually in Tulare before I add it, since the source is prone to geographical errors. http://tinyurl.com/plcyra

I saw that photo before, and I was wondering if maybe this was a Spanish-language house in its last go round. Easy enough to change Temple to Tempo.
