Looks like there was a drive-in at the corner of Clemson and Civic Center Boulevard. There’s a Kmart on the spot now, with the address of 3801 Clemson.
Looks like the address would be about 401 N. 84th Street. The theater has been replaced by a Kohl’s. After looking at Google Earth, the parking lot was built in the shape of the old drive-in property.
Any idea where on Bemiss this theater is located? I Street Viewed the whole street from Valdosta to Moody AFB and I didn’t see anything that looked like a theater. There’s a very good chance I missed it, and I’ll try again, but…
No, you’re not crazy. I’ve heard there were two screens as well. When I visited the site in circa 2000, only one was standing. Perhaps the second one was a cheap addition later on and it was removed?
This is a picture from 1943.
I read one comment saying that the theater was located on Boulevard at the end of Main Street.
You can still see the outline of a part of the theater. Type in 2662 Switzer.

This one should be changed to Closed/Demolished.
I believe I found the site of this theater at 124 N. Foster. Status should be changed to demolished. There’s a vacant lot and a small park.

It looks like this was on the east side of Highway 359 south of town. It’s just south of Spanish Springs Road.
I believe 525 is now occupied by a relatively new FSU parking garage.

I think that building on the 500 block is an old Publix store dating from the 40s.
Not sure. I’m planning a trip to the Northeast Polk area soon, so I’ll see if I can locate the building.
