What a nice b/w photo of this theatre that had a Marr & Colton organ in 1925. What is the current status of this theatre other than just being ‘closed’?
“Today, restored to its former elegance, the Ohio is used for smaller stage performances, concerts and live theater.” Does “former elegance” include the Moller organ Opus 2874 Size 3/17?
Lost Memory: Do you know if the organ that was installed in 1921 at a cost of $6450.00 is still in the Ohio Theater? And what about the Palace in Cleveland, too?
Now that exit sign has a very special meaning for me thanks to the CT knowledge that I have acquired over the past year since becoming a CT member in 11/04.
So sad that the Hippodrome in Cleveland is no longer with us and that the site is now a parking garage! So sad. I believe I have in my possession an Exit sign from the Hippodrome that was given to my husband many years ago and before I ever got the theatre ‘bug’!
The closing of the State Theatre in Sandusky Ohio is a shame especially when that community has the amusement park, Cedar Point that could certainly offer their support, imo.
Chuck: Would love to see your photobucket photo of the Stanley which has such a beautiful exterior facade! Can’t wait to see the lobby and THAT “Titanic” staircase!
I’m not sure where Gloversville is located in the State of NY, but since this location was the start for the famous Schine Brothers it is now on my must-see theatre list!
I believe the Schine Brothers were originally from Gloversville NY. Interesting to read that this former theatre was originally an opera house. Many small towns had opera houses and so many of them are gone today.

The Regent and the Capitol were also in Dunkirk, NY.
Is the Franklin Cinema listed on CT? Thanks for this Franklin information as the town sounds like a must-see when in the Nashville area. In fact, I think my girlfriend’s daughter goes to church in Franklin TN.

Franklin TN sounds like a must-see community despite the ‘upscale’ urban development for those who live in Franklin yet probably work in Nashville!
James Moule: Well said!
I watch the Rose Parade every year, but this January 1, 2006 I will view the City of Pasadena in a much different light, unfortunately!
“Although the panel voted to approve Buchanan’s plan 5-3 an appeal can still be filed.” FIGHT ON!

Can anyone provide a link showing the famous staircase?

M Horner: Yes, you are correct so thanks Mr. Memory!
On Cinema Tour there is a Franklin Theatre in Grand Rapids, MI. Anyone have information about this one?
Lost Memory: Couldn’t bring up your photo site posted 11/2/05.
M Horner: Thanks for the great Knickerbocker Theatre memorabilia website!

Warren: Thanks for this information as I was aware of this being the case. I plan to join THSA in the near future and receive Marquee issues.
