Theatre opened on December 18, 1998 (same day as AMC Kennedy Commons and Cineplex Odeon First Markham Place), and was taken over by Cineplex in 2012.
I recently visited Varsity, and the posters were changed to digital and the THX Certification was gone as well.

As of 2019, one of the auditoriums is now a 4DX auditorium. They retrofitted one of the smaller theatres with moving seats and special effects.
