Yes,I saw it.It pays to read non-fiction and not Fiction.Right Nick. Did you see that Kevin McCartey Passed away.He was great in “INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS”. Saw it in the paper.
It is really nothing to look at.Bit of history about the location when a jet crashed midair with a private plane within walking distance of the Epic, killing hundreds in the late 60’s,the Jet aircraft was reconstructed right in the same area of the 12 plex.I remember seeing the jet being put back together as a kid.I guess in those days they didn’t put crashed aircraft together in hangers.
Guys this is what i got on National Hills Theatre.I must be bad luck,so i will just read what you guys up there discuss. In fairness to Justin,JJD and a couple others I have seen posts about theatres where guys end up posting about RADIO stations,so it happens quite a bit,but I guess we do get Off Topic like so many others.Right Justin and JJd.
Adjusted to inflation I read “GONE WITH THE WIND” is still the higest grossing film of all time.Ticket prices up so high; so does it really mean anything to set a Box Office record? Just asking as an old theatre manager.
I had a friend I worked with at the IMPERIAL in Augusta. He showed me his “JAWS” T-Shirt they wore opening week; he still kept in a box.Tommy, why didn’t GET ONE !
“NASTY HABITS” opens at Columbia 1,we thought we might have protests with the Catholic Church, but it played a few weeks before shipping out with no problems and Bad Box Office.
Joe you are right about BOXOFFICE.I have used old issues for several theatres I have put on CT only to be told this is a wrong date or that movie wasn’t shown in 70mm.And so on. I know when I worked for GCC i would often send items in,some would get printed, some would not. Most of us theatre managers did not have Journalism Degrees.LOL.
Someone is actually talking about CUE MARKS,ask an 18 year old projectionist at your local 20 plex about them.Automation sounds great, but i knew a lot of operators that lost jobs in the late 70’s having shown movies since the 30’s in some cases, but that is business, isn’t it.The Human cost, out the door.
Looked liked a nice theatre in its day.
Me too,Simon.
You can’t go out without a better Actor.Burt Lancaster was a great actor. At least it wasn’t “Shaft Part III”.
He got in so good with Burt Reynolds, that Albert Wise had a few of his kids in “GATOR” shot in Savannah.

Thanks Don for the movie program.
Raysson,I have a Flamingo Drive-in in Myrtle Beach in 1956 owned by B.R.and w.w. Hucks. Name change again? This one parked 200 cars.
It was a Howard and Howard Drive-in.[in 1956]
What a bunch writing about “NOTHING”. Who Cares!Hope this ends some very stupid comments.
Don’t EVER let them tear it down!
Great pictures and ads guys.
Noticed in the ad they took credit cards.did not realize that form of payment was going on in those days.
