Opened in 1927 and closed in(circa 1959?). Located on south east corner of Pier Street and Queen Street. Also known as Altona Picture Theatre.
Opened on 24/6/1925 and closed on 29/7/1959.
The site is now a used car lot on the north east corner of Mt Alexander Road and Ormond Road.
Were many people attracted to this theatre building?
The chemist opened sometime(late?) in 2017.
This cinema building also has a cafe(Lisa’s Cafe) on the north side of the building(near Friendlies Chemist).
Correction, the chemist is called Friendlies Chemist.
The snack bar(and bio box?) building is now a chemist(Friendies Chemist),
It’s looks like a garage with a garage door on the(front?)!!
Looks out of this World!!
Why the name Talking stick?
Lol!!
Talking stick, odd name!!
Why is it called Tkahthu?
Is the drive-in in both Ohio and Pennsylvania?
Was the fire arson?
A cinema and video library, that unusual!!
Is the pine tree still there?
There is also a gym at the back of the building(Curves).
There is a Subway takeaway store on the left hand corner of the building at the front(still open i think?)!!
Why was it called Hankins?
I haven’t heard of people being invited to cut the speakers free and take them home as souveneirs before, wow!!?
Why was it called Austin(it’s not in Austin, Texas)?
The building look a bit French to me(i think?).
