The Castro Theatre and Another Planet Entertainment (APE) have announced their plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic theater.
Plans include a week of screenings featuring iconic films from each decade of the Castro Theatre’s history, from June 3 -12. Tickets to the screenings are on sale now.
Also, to mark the 100th anniversary of the theater’s 1922 debut on June 22, a day of movies that were all filmed in San Francisco will be screened.

LA’s only Zombie Ballet returns to the stage! Presented by LPBC since 2017, “Sweet Sorrow, A Zombie Ballet,” was created by Artistic Director Leigh Purtill for those who have a dark romantic soul and an intense desire to experience the underworld.
“Sweet Sorrow, A Zombie Ballet”, will include live on-stage performances and short films featuring LPBC company dancers from around the world. Together, they’ll take you back to the funeral of Romeo and Juliet, the star-crossed lovers, and tell you the rest of the story. You’ll follow Juliet’s cousin Rosaline through the underworld, as she encounters lost souls, vampires, zombies, werewolves and a mighty Raven Queen. wow, there’s so much bad grammar and misspellings in that vitriol.
Screen X is proprietary to Regal in the States. I don’t really believe many (if any) AMC complexes have theatres for 4DX or DBox.
So what exactly should they do?
