Yeah,I could only think to put Steve Martin on the Marquee, but even his name did not help.I can’t believe it played anywhere over three weeks. Not including get dumped on a Drive-in in the same city.
Karina,I know you guys had deal for free pizza.Heavens knows as long as I had movie passes i never paid for Pizza and even had deal with Mcdonalds.Good managers should always take care of the crew.Plez don’t tell me you bought the PIZZA.
I hope you guys haven’t replaced your great projectionists with high school kids like they have done almost everywhere in the States.Sad thing was the Union makes the movies, but has no say in having a trained Union person in the booth, never could figure it out.Mike Local 629.
KenRoe,I know this is a stupid question.I know what ABC is in the states.I even worked for ABC THEATRES,but what does it stand for in England. It has probably been explained, but I never read what your ABC was in relation to movie theatres.
Yeah,Bob you are right when my old theatres closed I was very close to putting almost the something on my old marquee at Columbia Square Cinemas or Columbia 1 and 2 theaters I could get to the letters easy, but decided not too. All they put was “CLOSED” and the “C” fell off over time.I got it.so it was"LOSED",Sad for a place that gave so much enjoyment.
The 1-85 is long gone.It is on CT. There is a six screen Drive-in in Atlanta, but Stan Malone would know so much more on your question.I think the HWY 85 is gone.
I know this is a bit off topic, but also in Meridan I noticed what I thought was an ABC THEATRE in a shopping center right off the interstate ,like the Royal Drive-in you could see it from I-20 and I think, this was 1975 when i went out to Dallas, that “JAWS” was playing?
Yep.it’s closed.
Looked like a nice quad.

Allen0318,try and get opening day movies if you can.Be great to see what they opened with. Thanks for the entry.
Thanks for pictures,KenRoe and Ian.I still think your older theatres are so much better. That could be a AMC in KansasCity. Not England!
Great pictures.
thanks editha and all the other great stories.

Interesting Story. We played"WEREWOLF" to great midnight crowds in the 80’s.
